50 mph Speed Cameras now on the M1

Nottinghamshire Safety Camera Partnership are now operating speed cameras to enforce the temporary 50mph speed limit covering road-widening work on the M1 Motorway.
The cameras, which cover both directions of travel, constantly monitor the speed of vehicles on the motorway and any whose average speed exceeds the 50mph speed limit are liable to be detected.
Although the speed limit is in place to help ensure the safety of contractors working on the project, motorists should be aware that various lane alterations and placements of plant equipment present a potential hazard twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Therefore the speed cameras will be operational at all times, not just when work is being carried out during the day.
